hundred must-be-preserved sounds of Japan" by the Japanese government.
Back in the 1870s when Edison was looking for a good bamboo as a material
of a filament for his early light bulb, the governor of Kyoto recommended
two sources for bamboo, this being one of them. Edison used the other
